Abstract

Метою статті є розкриття сутності феномену полісемії у фізиці. Методологія дослідження базована на системі загальнотеоретичних принципів (історичний, історико-порівняльний, системний, об’єктивності тощо) та методів лінгвістики й мовознавства. Основними завданнями дослідження є: 1. схарактеризувати основні підходи у сфері фізичної полісемії англійською мовою; 2. намітити перспективи подальших досліджень. Висновки з дослідження: 1. полісемія є значним лінгвістичним та мовознавчим явищем; 2. полісемія у фізиці як науці має історичні корені; 3. поле англомовної полісемії у фізиці постійно розширюється й ускладнюється.
