ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE IN SURGICAL DEPARTMENTS: ANALYSIS OF LOCAL PATTERNS
Abstract
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the leading challenges of modern medicine and a significant contributor to the development of postoperative infections in surgical departments. The spread of resistant bacterial strains, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing organisms, complicates treatment, prolongs hospitalization, and increases the risk of postoperative complications.
